ABOUT ME
Growing up in a small Northern California town, my teenage world was shaped by anime and manga, Final Fantasy games, and whatever superhero comics the library had. I was drawn to stories of dynamic characters living colorful lives. I was torn between wanting to draw comics and be an astronomer until I fell deeply into the queer confessional YA novels starting to be published in the early 2000s. I knew then that I wanted to write fiction.

I graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in English and around that time, I came out as a transgender man, an identity that affects my writing deeply. I use short fiction to explore how gender, sexuality, community, and relationships affect one's perspective and lived experience.
